Edward Ruscha: Stains

Ed Ruscha is known for his ground breaking pop based imagery.   The artist often calls attention to things we normally overlook such as of visual aspects of written language and word play, or in this case, the interesting patterns created by drips and spills of a variety of organic materials.   This body of work from 1969 features 75 sheets of paper that each display a single stain.   Everything from Drano and red wine to the artist's own blood are used to create these images.
