Luxury, Art & the Chambers Hotel
Once upon a time the corner of Ninth and Hennepin was home to a sex bookshop, cheap rooms and erotic parties. The bus stop that stood in front was not a place you wanted to linger very long and the overheard conversations whispered shady deals. After several years of anticipation, that same corner has joined the rest of the modernized block and raised it a notch by hosting the best of boutique hotels.
Chambers brought a level of sophistication that the rest of the Twin Cities is stretching its newly manicured hand to reach. In a time when chef driven restaurants and expensive condominiums on Lake Street are the trend, it is fitting that a luxury hotel with style and creativity should find its way from New York to the Mini-apple.
Surrounded by theater, the homegrown celebrity chef restaurant Solera, shopping, coffee shops and Loring Park, Chambers has been born into what can now be called a charming neighborhood. Once inside, it will take a minute to acclimate as the very unique personality of Chambers takes affect.
Before the door closes behind you a confident and chic host gives an elegant greeting and is happy to welcome and direct you to the front desk, bar or outdoor courtyard.
Immediately after, the artwork will engage, disturb and excite. Artists from around the globe are featured throughout the hotel in a variety of mediums from sculptures and photographs to paintings and prints. All of the work is from the private collection of owner, Ralph Burnet who takes meticulous care of and pride in what has won his family the honor of being ranked in the top 200 private collections in the world. The anthology will continue to grow as long as there are talented artists and Burnet encourages local Twin Citians to submit their work samples for review.
The outdoor courtyard is warmed and illuminated by a fire pedestal and features video stills and movies. The indoor bar creates atmosphere with lighting, glass and leather that marries comfort and luxury. Pleasure is the message that will melt your body into the Rockwell designed space to enjoy a soothing martini or warming glass of Dolcetto. An evening of comfort, style and culture is easy to be had in this sexy new space.
If that isn't enough to make Chambers top on your list of spots to relax, add to that the Jean-Georges restaurant and the 60 rooms to turn this spot into an all night affair. With Internet access, rain showerheads, ipod docks, 400-thread count bedding and 24-hour room service this is luxury spot number one.
