Java Jack's

by Martina Priadka

Soon, the al fresco dining and outdoor patios will be opening all over the twin cities begging Minnesotans out of their winter hibernation.   Only in Minnesota do we find short and t-shirt clad folks out on a balmy 40-degree day running around the frozen lakes. But the best way to enjoy the change of season when you really want to be outside but are not ready to go all the way is to warm up from the inside first.   A nice hot chocolate or mocha or maybe just a good cup o' joe is what you really need to get the internal thermostat on the rise. Couple that with the right atmosphere and you have a great spot for a few relaxing hours.

There are so many different atmospheres to choose from when it comes to coffee shops in the Cities that you can mix and match to any mood.   One that seems to fit every mood and every time of day, however, is Java Jack's.

Set in a laid back neighborhood and filled with well used but comfortable vintage furniture, it is easy to get into a zone. Great coffee and tea are served as well as hot cinnamon buns or even a hot bowl of chili.   What better way to transition from indoor to patio than with comfort foods?   Toss in the dog friendly policy with treats for the puppies free at the front door and you have one of the best laid back spots around.   Maybe even a spot to spot.   Last time we were there we spotted Josh Hartnett so who knows who might turn up.
