Indian Drawings From the Private Collection of Subash Kapoor

Exhibition dates: February 23 - June 19, 2006

       

    This exhibition of traditional Indian drawing is intended to introduce the viewer to the function, history, and beauty of the art form. The show features work from several regions in India and examines the differences in style and tradition.  These Indian drawings built of subtle layering of pattern, line, bold color, and unusual spatial relationships possess a wonderful balance between the delicate and graphic.  Appropriately, the exhibition's title refers to prayer beads and is used to reference the precious beauty of these works of art.
